Seems lately the only thing that inspires me to enter a post is when something tragic happens. Well, not in my life, my whole life's a tragedy so you kinda get used to it. I mean in the news. Yesterday was a total information overload. I woke up feeling all weird about the whole hostage situation in Iraq and the 8.30 dedaline. Well, that news was overtaken by the news of the death of Nafisa Joseph.
Nafisa Joseph seemed like one of the nicer VJ's out there. She didn't have that attitude, that arrogance which people here call "Oomph", she seemed more real, like a real person. Sure as hell the other VJ's could learn something from her. What I really liked was that she was a real animal lover and not just the sit-on-ur-ass animal lover types but she actually used her "privileged position" to help animals and do something useful. Something other VJ's could learn from her too. That was pretty much all I knew and appreciated about her. I was kinda suprised to find out that she was just 25 years old, always thought she'd be much older cos she's been around for so long now.
Ofcourse, much of yesterday I did think what could have pushed Nafisa over the edge. For those of us who are (currently) sane and stable, it's really quite baffling. Apparently it had something to do with her fiancee calling off her wedding. I was thinking, how could you ever love anyone so much that you'd take your own life??? It's been done before and it's gonna happen in the future too but it's something I just don't understand. Why would you give away something you've worked for so hard, something that others would die (ehh) for and throw it all away in a flash over a spat with your fiancee??? And this morning I find out her fiancee is this old ass bald dude, Gautam Khanduja, hell I've never heard such a surname before, ofcourse now Khanduja will mean evil evil man from now on. I hope you're happy now, Khanduja!
What else is going on? Hmm..I've got a couple of projects to work on so I'm glad, one of them is working out pretty good and the client is happy so ofcourse even I'm happy with that. I'm looking to get more work in the coming weeks, so we'll see how that goes.
Sometimes some things happen in our country and you can't just help but imagine why we are the way we are.
I'm talking about the fire in the school today that killed 80 school students in South India today. Aged between 6 and 10. While hearing the news report, I had a huge lump in my throat, this in a country where we as a people are totally used to hearing of catastrophies and tragedies on a regular basis.
Young kids, going to school to learn should feel nice and safe in school. Instead they've been burnt, charred, choked to death, horrible injuries on young innocent children, when the scum of India, the real criminals are out there having fun when they are the one's who don't deserve to live.
Now, we're going to have "Inquiries", politicians will visit and announce packages for the families of the children and show their fake and insincere sympathies. This goes on and on and on in India, we never do anything to increase the safety in our country. This could easily be the unsafest country in the world.
Sometimes, India will make you sick to your stomach, and what makes you sicker is knowing that things are not going to get better. More young kids will die, tragedies will happen and we will be just mere spectators to all that happens.
Can't Believe my previous post. I think I'm a changed person, changed in 3 weeks! eheh
Anyways, so I downloaded the "Firefox" Browser from Mozilla cos the whole world seemd to be raving about it. I frankly don't find anything THAT good about it. ofcourse, I think a big reason why people are moving from IE to Firefox is the security holes that IE has, it's probably much safer to use Firefox. It seems very bare and it's easy to use but I don't find the pages loading any faster, infact the graphics seem to be loading a bit slower with this browser.
Ofcourse, one benefit of getting Firefox is that I could finally log into my Gmail account! I got an invite like 2 months ago and never could log in because I didn't have IE 6. Ofocurse Gmail doesn't feel all that great either because the Yahoo! account that I use gives me 1 GB space too, I'd like to start using the search option on Gmail. That could REALLY come in handy. It's a big pain in the ass though, telling everyone to mail me on Gmail, I kinda like using yahoo.
Also, I recently downloaded the latest Yahoo messenger. It looks a LOT different from the previous versions, it seems to be a very heavy application, they have stupid avatars on it and some very horny emoticons or whatever. I think the guys at Yahoo! were smoking something when they were upgrading YM!
